I have never had a septic system but I do now. I have read that you should not pour any chemicals down the drain including paint. How do you guys cleanup when the house you are painting has a septic system.

Like don, put everthing in plastic grocery bags and take home.
I'm on septic too. My utility sink goes to a french drain along with the washwater.

Since it's home I need to paint I guess I can skip the plastic bags.

Teetorbilt So does this mean your sink water ends up in the sump. I guess the sump dumps into the grass outside somewhere Uh?

The water is diverted to a plastic, perforated, 55 gal. drum set to ground level and filled with local stones.
The water eventually makes it way back to the water table. The ground around it provides the filtering medium
