Pain in the butt contractor

I am installing a wood floor for a home owner. This is new construction. The home owner hired me not the contractor. He has been on my but the whole time. I am about sick of it. He thinks he knows every thing. I have grown up in construction with my Dad. I am about to inform the home owner about some of his work, but I want to get my facts straight first. We are in Southern Illinois were the winters are cold. The summer is very high humidity. The house is on a hill in the middle of a field in the country with constant winds. This contractor has not put any Tyke on the house. He said it did not need it. The siding is put straight on the OSB. No tar pappier or wrap. Is this crazy or am I? Oh and the home owner & I are now friends.

Man, I know the type. I usually try not to get involded with people like that but i guess if the HO is a friend and he's makeing things miserable for you then let hom have it. By the way, your right the house will leak without some type of WRB.

What type of siding is going on? If it is vinyl then it is going to leak air and also water. Vinyl siding is not 100% water tight. It get condinsation behind it.
Another Illinoisan! Welcome!

Lots of Illinois guys, mostly from up north though.
Don't get involved with their agreements.
Take pictures, document as much as possible.
Ask your friend to look at the contract and specifications with you.
Help your friend at the end when GC comes for final payment.
Help your friend get what he's paying for.
Get involved with your friend but stay out of the way of their relationship.
Just my opinion.................
id tell him whats up if i were you.no wrap or foam?thats just dumb.
There should definitely be a wrap of some type, or felt, no matter what type of exterior covering he is putting on. Unless they are gonna put rigid foam up??
