Is there a feature in outlook Express that will automatically move spam to the deleted items folder? I can add to the junk senders, and other tasks, but without fail, every message that comes in my inbox with the note .....spam.... still have to be removed by me. I am not a tech guy, so someone set me straight. If it comes as spam, I never want to see it. I get maybe 40 of these a day.

But than you will never know if someone in Nigeria, England, China, etc, wants to pay you 10, 15, 30% of several million dollars just to recieve their money in your country and keep it in your bank account until they arrive. Switch to Thunderbird. I moved over to this from Outlook Express for the same reason. OE does not handle spam well. Thunderbird has a spam filter that you can teach to filter what you want it to filter. The new version of TB shouldn't be too far off either with greatly improved abilities.

You can get Oulook Express to delete spam if the messages come in with the word spam on them. Go to message rules and set it up so that when it detects the word spam it will delete it from server. You have several options with what to do with it, but select "delete from server" or they will all stay on you IP's computer and everytime you check your email it will go through all of the spam mails again and it will take forever to get your legit email. Trust me, I know.

I bet I have won enough lotteries and had enough lost relatives die in plane crashes to pay Obama's budget......hard to imagine deleting all of them out.

I have Outlook 2003

Look under Tools then Options.

Under the Preferences tab is a Junk Email button.

Several options in there, including Permanently delete ....

Outlook express is outdated, you should switch. Thunderbird (from the makers of Firefox, Mozilla) is a good program and free.
If you're comfortable with outlook express you might want to try Windows Live Mail, it's the replacement for Outlook Express and has much better features, fre also.
