Check out this system of thin brick...It's over the entire 2 1/2 story house and has to be from long ago.

It's mostly in good shape and you'd never know it was a veneer until a fist pound confirms somethings suspicious.

The bay window area has a foundation issue and she's settled over the years 1 1/2" over 3ft. Dug into the foundation and discovered it was an add on from some years back...Somebody used broken concrete and stacked it for a footing and used one wythe traditional brick masonry above grade as the foundation wall.

Plank sheathing, good old felt and thin copper wire hangers/copper nails is what holds it up. Found absolutely no corrosion on wire or nails for what it's worth...

Worked on an old house years that had mathematical tiles, maybe one of the first thin brick systems. Think it was to do with the brick tax.
