The ups and downs seem to go in cycles for everyone around here. It'll pick up. I stay busy due to diversity. But what killed me a short period ago was an office remodel getting pushed back two to three months. Had to lay two guys off. But I'm still too busy to relax.

Inventory is very small around here, with hardly any new houses being put up.

People are very hot about sticking rocks to brick fireplaces right now. Not enough to keep a bunch of guys going, but its something.

I tried for the last two years to get my mason to set up a booth at the home show and offer outdoor fireplaces and pizza ovens. He would not do it...but the larger point I was trying to get to with him was what I experienced that last few years. Almost every person who stopped wanted to talk about remodels, or add-ons. I don't do either, but if we slowed down, I know I could run a remodel crew and stay hooked up.

If I were a mason, I would offer to do outdoor stuff, because I bet lots of people willbe doing home improvement this year, and staying home.

The people who go are looking for anything from lawn mowers to hot tubs, crafts, yard crap, doors and windows, and home improvement. And a few builders are always there.

The shows in the OKC market are expensive, and the best are the ones in January and March. Booth rent at the last one I did there was nearly $2000. I have contact info for you if you really want it.

Wow that is high. Can two people split a space? Seems like that would be a great way to get your Mason in there. Depending on how things are going next winter, I'm going to put it on my list.
