Maxx, Cool idea. :clap:I built this for a HO who said they would like some kind of shelf in their bathroom for all the crap that lingers on the counter. My wife had seen something similar on TV but it filled an entire wall.......so I scaled it back and made it work around the light switch.
I haven't been back but I assume they have painted it by now.

Good point. The framer in me always puts studs on top of plates - so I guess I just carried it over to this shelf idea. I guess since its not any real load - I should have thought about hiding the end grain better.Maxx, Cool idea. :clap:
A suggestion for your next one though.
Take your verticals top to bottom
and let the shelves die into them.
You hide more endgrain that way, and it
makes for a neater finish whether stain or paint. :thumbsup:
Please take it as a tip, not a criticism.
Think of it as putting your fasteners
in shear, rather than tension.:laughing:
