This tool was mixed in a box lot from a auction. I'm not sure what it is. Any ideas?says dunlap

Yeah... punch or grommet/snap setter..
Its not a leather punch . It pinches with the corner
Just pulling this out of thin air, but it looks like something to crimp metal buttons together...crimp, turn, crimp, turn, etc. Judges?
The top is numbered. The wheel tapers more and less when you turn it.
The answer is....drumroll....

Tool for setting saw teeth (somehow). There are several on ebay. Look up "saw set tool"

Sure, no problem. And now you get to try it!:thumbup:
So does it just set the kerf on hand saws then?
You know how the teeth are set to the left and the right, this adjusts how far they are set either way...usually used after sharpening a saw, or fixing damaged teeth.
Is it?

My tooth setters look different.

Sorry, I meant to say I don't know if that is a type of tooth set or not, I was just explaining what one was.
I believe that is a saw setting tool for circular saw blades, mine is nearly identical, its alot larger than my regular handsaw setting tools.
