Noob threshold ?'s: Carpet to concrete.

Hello all,

I am trying to find a specific threshold, and I'm not having much luck...specifically, carpet to concrete.

I'm looking to cut a square just inside the loading door of my business, about 6x8. This is office-style carpet, very thin, with no padding underneath, just concrete. Basically I'm trying to find advice on where to buy, what type, and installation mode, ie, adhesive, etc.

The threshold needs to be pretty stout, as heavy equipment is loaded through this door frequently.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Have a look at These reducers You need to decide on the exact size base on thickness of the carpet. You'll notice some styles are for carpet/nothing, carpet/VCT, sresilient/resilient, bla bla bla. It sounds as if you need the carpet to nothing style.

I always use Chemrex to install it. It's a high solids adhesive that holds like a bear. You need to mist the adhesive with water to make it cure but when it does.... when I use it for tackstrip I can powerstretch in 3 hours. And I stretch tight, it nevers lets go.

Both should be able to be found at your local flooring supply house.Check the yellow pages for "Flooring supplies and equiptment. Or something to that effect.

good luck,
Don
Thanks a million, Don.

My main concern was what type of adhesive to use...sounds like good stuff.

Once again, thanks!
