I'm about to refinish some nice old hardwood in a fitness studio. They need it done quickly, so I'm finishing with a waterbase (satin finish). They insist that this floor must not be slippery. Will the satin finish do the trick or do you folks have any suggestions?

Cheers!
Ian.

throw some sand in the finish :)

they could slip on any finish. it's a relative term.
See if you can find the slip resistance specs on the finishes and let them pick it out.

I would hate for them to have unrealistic expectations.
It may cost you.

There are any number of things that you can add. First look at non-skid for boats, they are made to look classy.
Most are made by adding thixogens for resins. You can try glass bubbles or QCells for starters, bubs are smaller. These are commonly used for non-skid on high-end yachts. There are some others, you may want to check Interlux, they offer about 3 different grits.
