Hmm.. tree fiddy...

I'm sure it's just a coincidence, right?

My dad grew up with a thatched roof in Ireland. Heard it's a blast to patch, lol. Insulation factor is supposed to be up there.

There's a few holes to patch here as well. Probably when flies hibernate in winter and the small birds peck in to get them. There are a few plastic snakes up there to try and scare them away.
Insulation is as you say pretty good.

A bit more progress. The point on the top of the hip is important to ward of the evil spirits.

Should get another 10 years out of it with a new ridge. The type of thatch used for this roof is water reed, which has a longer life than some of the other types. The yellow colour of a new thatch doesn't last long.
