in the process of building my own pond, the source of the stream will be an overflowing wishing well, here are a few pics

Just remember.....A pipe too small will cause too much pressure.

I only say this because I made that mistake 10 tears ago.

Had to keep the 2" PVC that I originally was going to use for the return and use it for a fountain in the middle of the upper pond and install a 4" PVC to create the proper return flow volume without the "Gush".

I really like where the stream winds around the trees. In the part right after the wishing well though, is there any way to lower the stream? It doesn't look right to have a stream on top of a mound of dirt. In nature, they are always cut lower than the surrounding grade. Maybe if you made a fall from the wishing well?? I can't see the grades accurately from the photos.

the stream is 62 ft long, i will be messing around with the transistion where the well will be overflowing, i want it to look like the well broke open and the water is flowing freely out of it. i will pile stones around the transistion to simulate this. i went to the supply yard today, the materials are around $3500, i was a bit surprised. because of the shape they recommended two skimmers, two pumps with 3'' lines running from each.

Really quite original as to the well wall trap door idea

Now I know that you've already compacted the soil/dirt (right)? Thoughts of the filtration system (carbon or sand filter)? Any fish in the ponds future? Adding main drains to those 2 skimmers or separate main drains at the lowest part of the stream/pond? Branching off the return lines at different levels with valves will give the water more or less motion, stepping down with ledges to create a waterfall or babbling brook effect, adding a rope with a bucket with a hand crank. I was going to add some stereo speaker imitation boulders with low voltage lighting too, but thought I'd only do that

Just covering some bases just in case...make it a wishing well to toss some coins into for your labor and materials ;)
