I don't feel so bad now that I don't know either. What's going on is that I am doing a small interview for a story on remodeling and the reporter sent me some pre-interview questions, one of them is " What are fire-treated cedar shanks?". Only reference to cedar shanks I found was with regards to Cooking of all things. Putting fish on "cedar shanks" while grilling for aroma.

So if you guys don't know either I'll go with mispronunciation of shakes.

Thanks again ........

Can anyone please tell me what cedar shanks (not shakes) are?

Thanks
I don't know about cedar shanks, but I had a guy quit one time because I wasn't paying him Pavillion wages. I asked him if he meant prevailing, he said "No it's pavillion"...:w00t::laughing:

I hear grilled Salmon on a cedar PLANK is the shizzle.

It is the best way to grill it that I know of.
Any fish.
Just soak the PLANK for a hour in water before you use it.
