I've never seen this happen before.

They noticed an issue with their garnet counter top, it moved 1/2-3/4"

Yikes!!

Is that 2" pipe?

Never seen them buckle like that but I have only run 1.5" pipe, doubled the studs and used stud shoes when I have to run pipe in exterior gable wall.

Is that holding up a header? The cardboard sheathing doesn't help much.
I would guess so based on where it is and 3 sistered
2" pipe with no stud shoe.

Yes they're carrying a header across the garden window at the sink. The line is the kitchen sink drain.

No one had a 2" by triple stud in stock. Had to order it.

Never seen cedar bevel siding like this before either. Self gauging.

So that's what they mean when they say 'knee wall' :jester:

I'd say 'damn plumbers', but it looks more like 'damn diy'rs '
Ahhhh. It would have lasted a couple more months......
This is how the home was built. It had to be a state licensed plumber.

It's amazing what "nothing" holds.

Good thing you caught it.
over here it goes by rebated weatherboard or splaycut not to common but easy to install

A friend told me it is called Dolly Varden siding here. He's not as crazy as I thought he was.

Have that cut of cedar down in the South. Find it on older homes mostly.
whats above all that mess ?

propably mot than that wrong in there, for sure,
Nothing wrong with anything above it. I think the second floor rim carries enough load around this window. The roof, siding, drywall, and shoe to the floor on the second floor are all in good shape.

Looks like either DYI or the local licensed plumber sent his very best worker over to install the drain. Hiring the big guy doesn't always pay off. Why the 2" pipe anyway for a kitchen sink?
Garbage disposal.
