Someone said I should introduce myself, so I will. My husband, who is in
his fifties and has a long transcript on file at the School of Hard Knocks, has found himself unemployed due to the recession.
He is extremely handy- has 10 ASE auto technician certs, has worked in communications tower construction, maintenance, and repair, and has remodeled several homes, as well as maintaining rental properties we used to own.
We are now starting a handyman service because he is tired of working on cars, and I am tired of worrying that he might fall off a tower in the middle of the night during a winter blizzard.
We are having a rough time trying to get our first clients- establishing credibility, etc.
I am hoping that we can make this work for him. He is incredibly talented, ethical, and professional. He deserves for this to work for him. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I can't say how glad I am to have found this forum. I've been lurking for a month, and I must say that I have been so impressed with the insights offered up here.
