I am building a new home and I am wondering what type insurance do I need to cover the construction of the house , is it a builders risk policy. I am not sure what I should look for. Thanks

Yes, you will want a builder's risk policy. Also, make sure your GL policy covers you for the work.

Peerless is now part of Liberty Mutual, but they have usually been the ones to write builder's risk policies for the homes I have built.

ETA - Building a new home for a customer or for yourself?

Ok, so in addition to the builders risk, make sure your current homeowners or renters policy extends liability coverage to your new home while under construction.
