Need to identify brand of material in photo

I have a client who sent me this photo of composite shingles from a house they drove by.

It is in northern california - I'm trying to narrow down the brand from the other photo. Looks like owens to me - curious if others can guess from the bad photo.

Looks like oc. Why do they care? I haven't seen anyone using felt paper in over 10 years
Looks like oc to me too. Some roofers are here are still using felt,

Have not used it in years , nor will I under steel.
felt

Yeah i chuckled when i saw the felt. not a cheap home too i am guessing - the client loves this roof, but all they have is that construction photo and this one i zoomed in on.

Felt is basically all they use around here. Nick said they don't use anything up in Canada. Different strokes I guess.

Felt has been on my home for 15 years seems to work fine. It's also on 99% of the other homes in this area. Of coarse this is S. cal where we may get 10" of rain a year.

Seriously? Felt is what we use here. Tried and true. Weather is very harsh here too.

I live in the rain capital of America it feels like at times and its what everyone uses.
I was gonna say, does everyone use self adhesive? is it solely adhesive, or does it get cap nailed too? I have to roof my rental, but figured I'd use 30#felt. Is the SA really the cats azz or what?

I use sa mostly just in valleys, side wall flashing. But I don't cap nail it , see no real need for that. And although there is really nothing wrong with felt, has been used, forever, I just like syn under my steel roofs. and with the weather we have here I don't have to worry about it staying covered until the metal is on.

We only ice and water the first 6', valleys, and walls. But we use http://www.interwrap.com/titanium/udl_30_main.html
This stuff. You can walk up a 14/12 once you get this down. We cap down the ice and water. I've had it melt out under me too many times.

I started subing them this year.
I haven't done shingles in a while...as most of you know I decided to go commercial and get Bent over for the big bucks instead of getting bent over more frequently for the little bucks by homeowners. But I had some felt in the warehouse and have used it for walkways when I do floors and as a substitute for builders paper in a pinch.. And my last roll worked wonders as an "I'm too busy to tape off properly when I paint" dropcloth.. Those painters aren't laughin anymore!

What's it like 100$ for a roll of builders paper? .. $60 for plastic.. Shooot... $17 for felt.

Oh and if your customer likes those shingles show them the pabco premier series. I don't know why pabco is like the stepchild of shingles.. Since they came back on the market, they are killing everyone else's prices, they are thicker, better looking & lay down better than any other brand.
For shingle roofs synthetic is the way to go especially on tear-offs! I use it just so I can sleep at night when a roof is off and much easier to walk on but as far as being a better underlayment I don't know. Once the shingles are on I don't think it matters between felt and synthetic. I might be wrong but I don't see a difference.
