The five way beams are nice.(the good ones like robotoolz) Laying out Balloon walls is nice. Also I learned years ago to shoot the foundation with a laser the day before the whole crew showed up. Along with checking it for square and paralell.
The way i level all my floors is with a laser level. I work for eurowood and they provide them. First I set the laser up and level the diods. Then with the sensor attached to a framing square i check all corners and find the highest point of the floor. Then i set the sensor to that height and shim the rest of the floor to that point by walking around the house and checking every four feet (one guy holding the square+sensor and the other with shims hitting until it beeps).. easy as pie. I level the beams the same way or after leveling the outside you can run a string. up to u
Are you talking about when you plum and line your house and you want to plum your cornners first so you can then pull a dry line down the walls . because there are a lot of differant kinds of lasers that do all kinds of stuff.hand helds tri pods side beames lasers that will square your building I have use them all at one time or another for the past 25 years more info needed please
And I argee with Framerman if you want shoot out side buy a builders level for post and things and if you want to do forms then get a laser with an eye set your grade and then you can set hight your self
