Hi everyone
I am new to "contractor talk". We (my husband, my son and myself) do home improvements. We have a master bath remodel thats a little different than we are used to. The homeowner, who we have done work for in the past, called us for an estimate. She also visited a tile showroom that offers a whole design team, and had them come to her house. long story short she liked our layout options better than theirs. Her only concern is that they can offer her options and selections that we don't have access to. We visited a couple kitchen and bath showrooms thinking we could get some information on different fixtures etc. so we could bring her some options, however, they don't work like that. We have done many bath remodels but either the HO selected the fixtures, or had us make the selections, and they were happy with what Home Depot or Lowe's had to offer. I appreciate any suggestions on how to obtain info. so we can bring options to her and make this as easy as it can be for her to make selections.
Thanks
Robin

I will be nice and say that going to various bath showrooms and trying to purchase or spec out fixtures is not the best avenue. if you are a legit contractor then you should have access to some wholesalers of various fixtures and tile besides Home Depot and Lowes.
Prepare to be flamed.

Your plumber (you have a plumber right?) can set you up at the showroom for fixtures, you should be able to get the same tile selections as the other designers at a design center or wholesaler.
Its kind of a touchy subject to the designers when you "steal" their designs (options and selections) be careful and not burn any bridges you may need in the future.

I appreciate your replies, however, I am a little offended.
First of all, we are "liget" WE ARE LICENSED HOME IMPROVEMENT CONTRACTORS. NOT kitchen and bath specialists, My intention is not to "steal" anything from anyone. I wasn't sure of the protocol so I thought I would ask "the experts".
Thanks for your time.

Why would you be offended? You were given free advice. You were told what to do and what to watch out for.

We should be the ones offended by the insinuating "contractor talk" and "the experts" part of your posts and the decision to not fill out any of your profile so we can know a little better who we're dealing with and giving out free information to.
