I am installing 3/4 maple and I am having trouble getting the staples to go seat down as to not get in the way of the tongue. It is a brand new tool with inch and a half staples and no matter what I try the staple does not go home PLEASE HELP...

You are supposed to have the tongue out, not the groove.
