We recently moved into a new (for us) property, and while I enjoy the view, the sun may be a little harsh throughout the day, so I'd want to put up drapes. Normally, I'd prefer great long panels that reach all the way to the floor, but we're planning to put a pair of chairs in front of the window and have three dogs who I'm sure will be racing around behind the chairs as much as they can. Should I go with a shorter curtain that won't skim the floor in order to maintain the curtains in excellent form and prevent them from being unduly trod/pulled on by dogs (they won't gnaw but they don't know how large they are) or is that a really obsolete appearance at this time?
