Yep, another tool I've gone far too long without.

I've always borrowed one but my pool has dried up. I was really looking at the Bosch from the many wonderful reviews of their larger saws. In the end, I decided to go with the Dewalt because of the overall reviews leaning towards the Dewalt's fence being better. I also got an Amazon instant rebate which made the price real nice too.

Not really. It killed me to hit the "purchase" button. I called every person I know about borrowing one but they are said their saws weren't up to par.

Check the contractor swap section in about 2 months :whistling:

I'll have multiple cabinetry fillers that need to be cut. Uppers, lowers and full floor to ceiling ones that I really don't have another way to cut. A circ saw is too big. A jig saw isn't accurate enough.

The base plate on a circ saw is too hard to clamp to a 3" wide piece of wood. I'd end up having to spend extra on plywood and have a place to set up a large station to use the contraption.

With the mini table saw, I can set it up anywhere I have room to push an 8' filler straight through.

Besides, this is my only circ saw:

I hope you know I'm just yankin' yer chain.

In a pinch, I've made my circ saw into a sort-of table saw by doing a plunge cut into a piece of plywood and flipping the whole affair upside down. Looks goofy, but it works.

I'm no saw dust sniffer. I'm novice at best when it comes to wood. I figure it was in my best interest to not ruin a special order piece of stained cherry.

I'm just saving myself from myself, basically

Are you really getting out of the business Angus? I must have missed anything on that. You seemed to be one of THE go to folks when it came to tile around here. In fact, I remember a recent tile job where a bathroom and closet - were all done on an angle making for a really cool look. Or another basement bathroom with help from another forum member that looked awesome.

Retiring or just tired of the business and walking away?

I'm trying to be smart. I'm not getting any younger and the body will eventually give out. I found an opportunity to do something else that I will start putting more time into and stick with if the income can be similar.

My main goal is to be able to do a job where ever it is I live. I have 2 more years that I need to be in Illinois and after that, some kind of sunny state will be calling my name.

In the meantime, I'm apparently hording tools
