My current little side project...

Building a clubhouse with one of my buddies for his kids, we looked at the kits and they were around 3k for a larger one, we custom built this and like it better I think he has right around 2k in it now, and we aren't done yet this thing is going to be the taj mahal of club houses.

We started out as it just being a clubhouse on a deck with an attached swingset, then we decided we needed a lookout tower ontop of the swingset.

Then we decided let's put a loft in said clubhouse, so a loft was added, then hey let's put a fire pole inside from the loft down to the ground which will eventually have another deck with attached sandbox.

Then we decided we were going to add another deck off of the left side that comes out from the original deck 15' and "wraps" around the tree so they can have a spot to put a table and chairs.

to date we have yet to put in the fire pole, and put the deck below the main deck as well as the sandbox, and the deck that is going to be attached to the left side of the clubhouse, this should be done by the end of the week, the slide will be in tues. which will come out of a "trap door" at the back of the clubhouse twist around and shoot the kids out into the sand box. It has a rock wall too, that is on the left behind the steps.

what do ya think?

It was funny we were working on it the other night, since we are doing it after work, his son says to his mom, I know why it is taking so long to build the clubhouse, she says why's that? he replies, cuz it is going to be the best clubhouse ever and that would take time to do.

Love it!!!

Things like that even from a little kid, is what makes this business worthwhile
oh yeah and on the right next to the yellow seated swing, is going to be a tire swing
My kids treehouse is better then your kids treehouse.:whistling

I built this one last summer for an in-law. It was a paying gig though
I was gonna make the bottom into a sand box but since she has cats we decided not to cause it would turn into a litter box. I went back and put decking on it instead. I also bolted another 4x4 to double up for the swings and stiffen it up

That's AWESOME!:notworthy You and your buddy have the right idea!

(and besides You NEVER know if a family"discussion" will lead to a need of temporary alternate sleeping conditions. Looks More comfortable then a couch.)
Mmike- awesome looking playhouse you built.. I have just one question though...Is that green slide on upside down? :whistling
Nice Job. Great for you and the kids.

 it could be, I dont think so though. the top had a flat part for the bolts. I'm not going to be able to sleep at night now thinking I installed it upside down:laughing:

Not my kids, but PROVE IT...:whistling

Mike,

I only ask because I just installed the same slide on a playhouse for my kid, and mine is on the other way.. Like you said, there was a flat part with bolt holes to mount it, so it seems like a no-brainer, right? Your just seemed especially steep for little 2-year old Bobby and Sally...
