I agree that if the thing is seized you'd best be careful.

I surely couldn't tell you since you don't mention what brand, what model, which bearing (bearing that drive the main mixer, a bearing in the motor, tub pivot bearings..... or provide a pic or much other info.

My mixer is a different brand and configuration.

You might also consider checking if it could just be a dry bearing; oil grease, possibly heat the area with a heat gun since sometimes zerks dry out, won't accept grease. You might also try to loosen the belt/ drive and see if you can reverse the direction and break it loose.

My old mixer had frozen from years of unuse. I replaced the zerk, heated up the grease, pumped in some fresh and worked it back and forth until the electric motor could finish the job.

If yours has been run dry you might be able to relube it and use it this week conceivably without tearing it down.

If it is a destroyed bearing you'll likely have to tear it down. If parts are not available sometimes good machine supply houses can cross reference bearings and provide you equal or better replacements the same day, off of their shelves.

good luck.

You are missing grease. Keep your **** clean and the bearings will last longer than you will. That said, Stone bearings are lifetime guaranteed, so when you do get them out, send the remains, along with the model number and serial number to them and they will replace them free.

If you need a puller to get them off the shaft, you will also need to replace it as well. Be specific and post some pictures and I can probably help.

stone 2 1/2 bag

i had bought it used in this condition. besides the bearings being bad the rest is in better then excellent shape. so mister rocket scientist thanks for the comment it is a stone mixer just a year or two old. dont no how the guy burned the bearings out so fast. we could not find any set screws in it cleaned very well, heated it and used a pully puller and we can not get it to budge. thinking thier just cooked on. a local mechanic said to torch the bearings out and that it would not hurt the shaft but it sounds like its going to cause me more problems guess i should say it is the drum bearings. it seems that there is something holding them on. like i said we could not find anything. tomarrow i will post pics

Get the torch out and cut them suckers off. This ain't nascar your dealing with, I know for a fact that my shaft is bent, but it mixes just fine and if the bearings finally give out, I will replace the shaft, bearings and all.

Worst case scenario is you have to mix some by hand. Course if you got to mix ten bags on Monday then you better have a back up available or you are in big do do. I have a spare mixer and a friend who will loan me his with 1 call. No way I'm letting a mixer stand between me and getting a job done.

defintly the bearings took the end covers off you can see half of the actual balls are missing i will post the pics tomarrow evening it will be easy to see its the bearings. only on the oppisite side off the moter above the tounge. i have heard from other masons it was next to impossible to change them. if that was the case dont think it would of been as easy as it was to find the replacements
