I was curious as to if many here get the chance to add old architectural components to new construction and how it worked out.

I had these bases and columns sitting around for fifty years. My father had taken them out of an old appartment building he had.

When I built my house I pulled one out of storage and it fit perfectly into the opening where it now sits, albiet unfinished, since I want to match the trim on the opening to the same wood as the unit.
Pretty sure it's old growth SYP.

I used the column design for the porch posts also.

Yea,
The ugly dining area light was from my old family home of forty years, put in more for nostalgic reasons.

I love it, but the doors look upside down?
