A customer has a 3000 sf metal roof-lite gauge galvanized metal--less than one year ago, some Yay Hoos went up there and put on some aylkid oil base without primer and over light rust. This paint is now peeling off-about 30% and there is quite a bit of lite rust.
---Can I pressure wash, get off the loose stuff, then go back with a good DTM primer, then a hhigh quality elastomeric, would this elastomeric "hold down"or "protect" the remaining Oil base paint.
---theres no garuntees here to the owner-owner understands its a total gamble!! i think maybey it can be done, and can think in terms of a 5 year roof with another new coat of elastomeric in 5 years. thanks

That sounds like a pretty good plan to me...

The fact that it was never primed means that you should be able to get even more than just the stuff that is pealing off with a power washer.
