I am looking for a spread sheet that will total the cost and amount of materials as I input the cost and quantity. Has anyone seen something like this?

Thanks

Maybe I am not understanding

You want to enter the costs of materials then the Quantity and have it tell you the total?

so you enter

Amount Description Unit Price Price
---2-----2x4x10' spf-----3.65---------7.30

Or do you want it to have some sort of data base so you can enter

Amount Description
---2-----2x4x10' spf

And it automatically puts in the unit price and pice from the database. Almost like what the lumber yards do?
(sorry spacing does not come out right)

I would like to enter the quantity and price and have it calculate the total.
I was hoping to find one that had a material list already in place. I may try to build one with excel. May take me a while to get the formulas correct. I was working on a small estimate and thought how nice it would be to have this type of spread sheet. I can use quick books, but it takes awhile to look up each item. I want something faster.

Thanks,
Steve

You can download a free copy called supply control........

in the link below. This program can be easily modified.

here is one i made for a deck. kinda reboots my brain everytime i build one. has cut down on return trips to the lumberyard to get the whatever small thing i forgot this time. it also will compare the prices of different suppliers if it comes down to a bidding war and every penny you can cut that isn't out of your pocket counts.
