mahogany crown in Bathroom

I am considering installing some nice painted mohagany crown molding, I reclaimed from a demolishion, in my 25sq ft bathroom. I am in NJ and do have air conditioning. However this will be in the only Bath in the house. We probably average 3 showers per day.
Am I crazy? Will there be a mold issue?

Why would you paint mahogany crown? What a crime!!!

All kidding aside, I would think it should be fine. It wouldn't hurt to at least prime the back of it before you install it tho'.

It was already painted when I saved it from the 17 year old house that was torn down. I thought saving it was enough. Now I need to strip it?
If you are going to leave it painted I dont understand why you would want to strip it. Just prime the back if not already done, lightly sand the finish face, install and paint it.
Why would a 17 yr old house be torn down??? Or do you mean 117 yr old house???

Slap a bunk bed in there and you got a jail cell.
