The 18v is a dying product line, they're selling them off cheap because they need to get rid of them. I've never seen a company hold onto their odd sucky battery as much as dewalt has.

Just wanted to point out the current Lowes sale on various power tools, on till April 1. They have a "free battery" offer on many tools. I picked up a DeWalt 18V impact with case, charger and 3 batteries for $168 and an 18V DeWalt hammer drill with case, charger, and 3 batteries for $198.
Hard to beat, especially if you're needing new batteries.

I believe they are still the biggest mover in the cordless dewalt line.Because they sell like hot cakes .

The sale is on all their lines, as well as Porter Cable, Bosch, Makita.
