Hi there,

I need to do this very small insulation upgrade and we only have 3" to work with. (capital that we do not exceed that- don't ask me :censored:) I wanted to use polyurethane rigid foam panels as these have the best R-value from what I understand (R-7 to 8 per inch. I think the stuff is expanded with CFC's or HCFC's)

But I can't find the stuff here at all. I'm in the Montreal area in Canada and we only need a few. Any ideas?
Where would you guys look for those?

Or maybe some other product suggestion that will offer a comparable R value. (Like polyisocyanurate rigid foam insulation panels expanded with pentane (R-6.8 per inch) but no luck as well finding those...)

The pink or blue stuff you find everywhere is Polystyrene foam and has usually a rating of R-5 per inch.
I was looking for polyurethane foam panels which have a rating of R-7 to R-8 and is hard to find. I would settle on Polyiso but I'm having trouble finding it in small quantity.

High-R and Tuff-R don't seem to be available here... In fact on Dow's website they clearly state US only for the Tuff-R product...
I have called a few places but they never really seem to understand what I'm looking for... I'm starting to to get impatient.

I will try to call a few roofing distributors on monday. But I find it odd that this stuff can't be found easily...
