I picked up a used ST Pro 395 Graco sprayer that wasn't cleaned very well, what's the best thing that will remove/dissolve the old latex paint from inside the hoses and filter housing?

Run some mineral spirits through it....a lot of guys I know store the machine with spirits in it whether they last used latex or oil.

I know about storing it with Pump armor or mineral spirits to protect the innards but will mineral spirits remove some of the built-up latex inside the machine or is there something better?

If its choked up with dried latex, its shot IMHO.
Hope you didn't pay much for it.

I agree. For sure dump the hose. Take the rest apart and see what it looks like.

Yeah, the hose is a definite goner. Replace.
I wasn't trying to be flip above, but everytime I have seen a sprayer that wasn't cleaned out good, especially with latex, it was time for a complete rebuild. Would that be cost-effective for what you paid?

It works fine but I would like to get it cleaner than what it is. I have a new hose and gun.

Then just run the spirits through it if it's not that bad. You can just recycle a few gallons through it a couple times, I'm sure it'll clean up any minor crap.

What about laquer thiner, will that work or will that eat the innards of the sprayer?
