So I need to get some new laser levels. I’ve been using Robotoolz self leveling lasers and loved them. However, Bocsh bought them out and now Im not sure of the quality. Does anyone have any insight on which laser levels I should look into.

PLS is a good brand...but I wouldn't worry too much about the bosch lasers, I am sure they are plenty decent. Seeing as Bosch just starting to release a whole bunch, I am sure that had alot to do with Robotoolz being bought out. They are prob mostly the same. Infact that look pretty much the same.

 

It totally depends on what you want it to do.
Inside work, or outdoors?
Spinning, 5 way beam, or level & plumb reference lines?
I like the PLS 5 alot for 5 way visible beam, great for plumb bob, inside leveling and layout/squaring. No reciever, not very good for outdoors.
I dont like my DeWalt spinning laser, but I dont need that too much.

 

I've been looking into getting a laser level as well. Been looking at the PLS180 but recently been seeing good reviews for the DeWalt (DW087). I like the dewalt cause of the price, but have been a PLS user for a long time.

 

Just picked up the dewalt about a month ago, works great and comes with a nice hard case. The pls was $50 more am felt cheap compared to the dewalt imo

 

The DW is very well made in the self leveling x-hair I have. Heavy build, brass castings on the movement. Paid $50 at Lowe's clearance as a display so no case for me. Looking at getting a Lunch pail and adding foam.

 

I like my Hilti line laser, and they check it for accuracy once a year for free.

I have Spectra Precision & Pacific Laser Systems stuff.

Pretty good stuff, very durable & accurate.

That was on my short list but the PLS 180 was less than half the price so I cheaped out and got it. :whistling

 

another vote for the dewalt DW087. it produces solid vertical and horizontal lines.

 

i love the dewalt for hanging wall angle when doing drop ceilings. makes life easy with that clip. It all depends on what you are trying to do with the laser. I own some cheapo fatmax plumb bob and laser level. both cost me about 50 bux. I do love the PLS though, they are nice and compact.

 

I also use a Dewalt. It works great.

 

I have the Bosch GLL2-80 it works great. Had it about 4 months so far so good. Wish it had a smaller line and came with the receiver.
