We're leaning toward using the Balta Traditional laminate flooring on top of a concrete slab in a home we're remodeling & will only be living in 3 years max. The question we have now is underlayment. We currently have floating hardwood floors with inadequate underlayment (boy they've come a long way over the last few years) & hate it so sound deadening is imperative with 3 big dogs & a 3 year old.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I see alot about QuietWalk out there, as well as cork, but we'd like to stick to an all in one underlayment if possible just from a time saving standpoint.

Clarification - we're moving out of the house with hardwoods due to a company transfer. I would never replace real hardwoods with laminate - we're just on a tight budget right now.

Cork is about the best, but you will need to check with the manufacturer on if it will be acceptable.
