I think the logo and lettering looks great and really adds a level of professionalism to your company. I know that home owners much prefer to see a lettered truck pull up then just a plain truck with a ladder on the rack. Well done!

Nothing wrong with that. I had a sign business and all I had was the company name on it. If they are interested they will look you up, it's even easier these days with the internet/phones, etc.

One thing I always stressed is not to put TOO much info on there, if it reads like a page in a book people won't bother. It's sorta like billboard advertising, not as extreme but a typical billboard is 3 seconds to get the message across.
Couldn't agree more. I don't get it when people list every single small service they do. Oh you do siding AND soffit AND fascia?

The simpler the better in my book.

I have been going back and forth about lettering my truck. I use it for work and personal so I don't really want it lettered up always, but feel like I am missing out when it's parked on the street in front of a project.
I am prob gonna do it soon with the most attention on the tailgate. Thinking just logo and maybe phone on the doors. I will make sure to pul in when I park so people walking past get a view of the tailgate.

Looks good. Don't worry about people saying it looks too small. No one is going to be taking your number while driving down the road at 70mph anyway.
Actually
that's not true.
I have had several calls this year alone ( about 3) from people who TOLD me they snapped a picture of my signage while we were driving on the highway.

I have no idea if they were the passenger or the driver in THEIR car.

That's people who have TOLD me this---- no idea how many people do it and don't mention it.

to be fair---we ARE specialists in what we do- more common trades or "git-ur-dun" construction types---- ya ,probably people won't be writing down your number on the highway.

Back when my cell phone was my main business number I had a guy call me on the highway while doing 110km to tell me to slow down he was trying to write down my email address and web site. I don't understand how he got my number from the truck if I was going to fast to read it, never did hear from him.

To me an unmarked vehicle is unprofessional. In this state, if you are licensed you are required to display the number wherever your company is advertised. That's so people can look up your info to see if you are current or not. Let's say you had a pest control guy show up, would you feel better if the van was unmarked or lettered? Would you trust the guy that looks like he's doing it for a few extra bucks?

I largely agree with Rango's point,
however yesterday I had what I thought was a humorous experience.

driving on the highway I hear an awfull racket pulling up on my right side---- I look over and this rattletrap old pick up was sounding like it was about to throw a rod........
incredibly it PASSES me-and I read the magnetic sign on the door
" Lawncareless Landscaping"------------
the phone # was completely illegible

the unfortunately chosen name of the" Company" ---- the illegible phone #, and the impression the vehicle made----- guaranty that would be the LAST lawnservice I would ever call.....

Yesterday some dude was riding on my ass on the highway, passed me on the right and cut me off. I look over and see a name and number on the truck. "Dun rite" all I could think of was "speld rong"
We need to find out who is driving that truck Aaron:laughing: They are located close to me. Not sure if it was the same guy driving, but they were ridin my bumper on a residential street for miles!

Looks really good I think. I agree anything I drive to look at jobs or give an estimate should be lettered- it makes people feel a lot more comfortable when they look out in the driveway and they know who it is before I get to the door.

At the same time I also go with the smaller size- one on each door. I can certainly see why the tailgate would be a good idea though, now somebody mentions it. I do not want to look like a travelling late night infomercial with it on both doors, the hood, both sides of the bed and the tailgate like I see some done up.

Dun rite. Yours looks good tho. I like the simple look of it. Professional and clean. I've had my vans lettered for years. Maybe one call. More for branding than anything. I never get calls hey I seen you on rt 51 today I need an estimate type calls. More or less I get referred and people say I see you guys all over town all the time.
