Looking at a job in an high rise condominium which involves removing glued engineered wood over glued cork. After using a mechanical floor scraper to remove bulk of flooring/cork should I just resolve to hand scrape the left over cork and glue out is there an easier way (less money)?

Once the wood is up, the hard work is done. Even urethane adhesive scrapes up fairly easy with 4" stand-up scrapers.
thank you for the heads up
appreciate your input thanks a lot
There are some electric powered units that work pretty well. You have to cut the flooring about 2" wider than the blade, put it makes life easier.
Best of Luck!
What kind of mechanical scraper did you use? Was it over gypcrete? Did you make cuts 2 ft. Wide?
It was a 11 volt electrical, with about an 8" cutting blade. The company I worked for rented it, so we made the cuts 10" wide.

It did a pretty good job of taking the cork off as well. The fact that it reduced the "on my knees with a razor scraper" time did not hurt one bit.

The blade can be resharpened pretty easily if you use a mini-grinder or some other grinder.

Best of luck.

I will see if I can find a brand name for you.

You do know there are 4' scrapers right? I buy mine at the supply shops for around $20. Sure as hell beats using a small one for big areas.
I threw a piece of rebar inside mine to prevent it from bending the pipe, I hardly ever use it though, hmmm what will I select?

Lol - yeah I've seen that done. I put a nickel in the rubber handle to keep the pipe from cutting through it.
Man you must be makin good money, I put a penny in mine. Right now I think parts were robbed from it but I bought 5 mini scrapers on clearance for 5$ each for replacement parts.
Why was wood removed? Color, style, damage? I don't know why but I'm always curious for reason of removal.
