I'm going to go against the grain here and say Makita. Not that Bosch doesn't make a good jigsaw, but I don't think the current crop is that great. The older ones that were made in Switzerland were fantastic, but I think the new models are made in Malaysia.

I looked the other day at my lumberyard and they're still made in Switzerland

Actually, it's made in the UK, but that still doesn't change the fact that the Bosch jigsaw that is currently in the market is not as good as the 1590, 158x, etc. Those were made to a higher standard.

I had the barrel grip Bosch model . When it got wet and stopped working . I picked up a ridgid r3121 model . Was surprise how nice of jigsaw it is .
