I know Ive seen a thread on this subject but I cant find it. My plumbers are getting close to roughing in the jetted tub. My question is what type of bedding do you use to set these units. Sand, mortar, expandable foam, equipment pad grout??????

I have used non shrink grout (as above) but will also do a bed of drypack with some thinset on top

I've heard guys are using spray foam, havn't done that and don't actually know anyone who has.

I think its better than nothing, however, you have to be careful what type of foam you are using - if it expands too much, its gonna lift or warp the tub.

Concrete is also, well, concrete - foam is obviously not that hard
