Although it might be impractical for a lot of users, it must have had a decent market with pattern makers to build the same model over a period of 40 years or so. It certainly wasn't a production machine. Dual purpose machines never are.
The most awkward part to me would be how far you have to reach to hold down the material...lots of stuff stinking out into your gut!
Jack goes balls to the wall with his restorations....:thumbsup: he's got an issue on the out with the planer- if you watch he's pulling the board to get it out....something isn't write and he talked about that in the video. Knowing Jack....it will get resolved.....

Maybe going from planing to joining may be a small process but you can plane first then joint.....JMPO .
I know you don't care for the Wadkin PK either - adjustments are to low but the quadrant and fence are pretty slick IMO ...
