Not my problem. The installer needs to prove it is installed per mfgr requirements. One way is to have it inspected b6 a commissioning specialist.

The other way is to just have the AHJ inspect the install, and if they pass it. They are satisfied that it meets Manufacturer requirements.

When a code, or manufacturer uses the term/word "should", it is NOT a requirement.

If they used the word "shall", that would be a requirement.

Unless you have some seriously undersized duct I doubt the negative static pressure is very high. I’d guess under 1/4” WC

They could also drill holes in your duct and hook up a manometer but they probably know they don’t need to do that based on their years of experience as an HVAC pro.

For those asking about the water level, get a weather glass, it's interesting watching the water in the vessel move with the slighest change in barometric pressure.

You give too much credit to some people. Another project I have ... different company ... installed two new systems (kept the old ductwork) and seriously screwed it up. Installed the wrong type of thermostat, took a couple of weeks to figure that out. Got the drain line trap grossly undersized, so the pan is always full of water ... full to the point that it overflows and has ruined the carpet and ceiling tiles twice. Went through with a T&B crew, poked holes in the ducts for the probes ... failed to seal the holes.
