Is the hardwood market dead in your area?

Bidding on a job, had 3 days to put package together. Need 504 linear feet of full dimension 2x8 white oak flat sawn. All we have around here is hardwood, the hills of pennsylvania are loaded with oak, ash, maple and cherry. Theres like 6 saw mills within a 30 min drive. One place said they could do it but told me they have no clue on a time frame because they havent had any white oak in quite awhile. I dont even care if its green.....on a side note was told by the only place that would even talk about it said he could do it for $1 a board foot if he can get some logs. seemed pretty fair to me.
