Just got done downloading it to my "old" 3G iPhone. So far all i've noticed that's different is landscape is now available in email and stocks and pictures can be sent from text messages. I'm sure there is more that I haven't found or figured out yet, like attaching images to text messages.

I am a bit disappointed. I thought the update would give me the capability to use a zoom on the built-in camera. That only happens if i drop another $200 on the new 3G S.

I'm probably buying the new one on Friday.

Some recession huh?

The spotlight cross phone search is great. I needed to find a specific email...it found it instantly.

It's a good upgrade.

Next, I get the wife the 3GS.

This is what it says when installing. I cannot believe I waited so long to get one. I have had the 3G for maybe 2 weeks and it's fine. The 3GS I'm not sure I can justify it right now. I've had an iPhone boner for a week now. It's incredible.

One thing this phone lacks is conversation recording while talking on the phone that is the most useful feature a phone can have. My nextel Motorola phone has it and I did not see any other phone to have that feature.

well.....you caaan....however it requires what they call jailbreaking. Apple only wants you to have approved apps on the phone. Theres a ton of other apps they will not approve, like the one for flash, recording phone conversations, and turning the camera into a video recorder.

Jailbreaking as far as I know is not ready for the 3.0 OS. There is info out there. I'm not going to do that yet to my new phone. Maybe later.
