Hi all,

There's some valve wheels suspended on top of a pipeline that's 9-10' off the ground. I want to lower these to arms reach for the operator and the easiest solution I can think of is to add chains to operate the valves, but I'm also worried about the chains hitting the insulation for the pipes attached to it.

Are there any insulation protection products out there to prevent damage and wear from the chains? Any input is always appreciated.

Thanks in advance - pics noted below for reference.

There's metal shields that will protect insulation, but I've never seen chain used to suspend any mechanicals in industrial construction.

Talk to a local welder or fab shop about making up a sheet metal guard to protect the pipe insulation. Well worth the small investment to keep that insulation looking pristine.
