Anyone used the Cor-A-Vent product called In-vent? It installs in the 4th course up and vents the roof through a slot you saw in the sheathing. I'm wondering about interrupting the ice-and-water, about ice dams below the vent, and about exposing the cap shingle to wind and having it lift. It looks like a good product for some of the old houses around here that have a crown molding for cornice, no soffits at all.
Thanks, Jim

2 years or so ago, their rep wanted me to use their product and offered as many cases of the product I needed to test it out, but I decided against it due to the extreme lift up at that course of shingles and I already was very satisfied with the Smart Vent from DCI Products Inc., which I had been using since 2001, with ever increasing popularity all the time and fantastic documented results.

If I need to install it up mid-way on the roof, I can do that less conspicuously with the Smart Vent for open soffit style roofs too and it is barely noticeable.
