I see you live in Idaho...Not a whole lot of illegal workers there huh..Try going somewhere like southern california where job sites are about 70 percent or more mexican. You have no clue what you are talking about because you don't live where it affects anything!!!These guys drive the prices and pay rate down so low it's ridiculous.
No, we have a lot of "illegals" here as well. Actually became good friends with one. Perhaps not as much as your neck of the woods, but still plenty out here.

A big reason why there are so many Mexican workers doing construction work, is not due to wages, but due to productivity. Truthfully, a lot of "legals" happen to be dead weight, when it comes down to productivity, and getting the job done.

It's a social problem. The more accommodating we are for them, the more they get away with it.

Most insurance plans don't cover injuries sustained while committing crime. No reason workers comp should view illegal aliens differently from injuries during crime.

You can't buy votes if you eliminate them.

to those of you that say illegals do work Americans dnot want. I want the work. I want it. the question is are you willing.g to pay an American citizen living wages to provide that work.

Will you pay30-50/:hr per man?
that's what it cost to be legal...
What I find in UNION town, The very unionworkers themselves that say: union union union, are the 1st to have the cheapest guy to do things they want done around their house. The name of the game is competition for work, it is better to position yourself better in SOME way than rather than finding scapegoats for the reason it didn't work for you.

Most people when they shop for goods are always looking for the best deal. If it wasn't so tell me how WalMart came to be the biggest retailer in the world, @ the same time there were high end places like Marshal Fields, Jacobsons, Hudsons, just to name a few. Even Sears and JC Penny traditional strongholds of the middle class are stuggling to survive under the weight of lower prices, better deals etc.

Things are changing, these very arguements being tossed around this post were going on @ the time of the European influx through Ellis Island. Just have to find a different approach.

Might be better to expand the business and hire some yourself. As long as they are legal. But even by this very story how can you really be sure?

Thats interesting. Here PA they are not entitled and want the w-9 up front at time of employment to check status not like they used to at year end. I used to have my comp with the state and they were very matter of fact with it. Don’t bother paying in to if they are not legal
They will not get paid in the event of an injury....period. few years ago they a huge financial loss with illegal workers filing claims and taking off back to mexico.

This whole illegal worker thing just stinks!
our labor force needs them because we are too good for those jobs or simply won't do them. They can't drive. Barley understand you. Show up reliable, work hard. and no drugs or ever complain. if there that determined to stay here they should join the military instant us citizen after the term. Take it further and get training gi bill, or retire from it.
The whole thing stinks:censored:

By all means. Problem is more times than not, our guys don't earn their keep. It's tough out there. No doubt about that.

I find that the mexicans I come across don't have the ability to multi trade or bounce around. They suck at any type of finish work even after doing with them a doz times. and I'm talking about basic window trim and base.
They are good at general labor set up break down clean up, site and ground work and demo. But getting them to fussy finish work or any angles task that uses there head just does not work. Good for simple repetitive work . Give them something that requires the use of the brain and forget about it. That's my 2 cents.

Maybe if you taught them to scribe the angle it would become very clear. Sometimes it might be the teacher. Sometimes not though.

Where's Halle when you need her..

tried and tried and tried again. sometimes there just too dumb to retain it. I have other that it the 1st time and own it. Most of the mexis look for a paycheck and that it. They don't take ownership and when confronted they play the no ablo card. the whole thing stinks.......

Well, the State of CT is getting ready to issue all the illegals licenses
They say it will make the roads safer and add needed revenue to DMV.
What kind of absurd BS non-sense is this chitt?

It is of my opinion that empowering illegals is like an environmental crime.

Profit at one focus point gets made at the expense of polluting the environment... or in this case various expenses to the society.

If they're here illegally, they're fugitives of the law.
The fact that one can get arrested for outstanding warrants during a police contact, but illegal aliens somehow don't get deported every time there's police contact is absurd. Double standards through political scandal.

There are ways to stop this, like in the elections. Bitchin here on CT, will raise public awareness, but unless people vote this stuff away it'll be here.

And why blame people for doing what is legal? The laws must be changed!

Spreading awareness through use of the internet is important. So is encouraging consumer to "out" companies who use illegals.

If they're not certain that they're undocumented, making a factual statement could lead to a libel claim, however making inferences don't as long as it is not explicit.

HOs should be encouraged to write out in reviews the lack of basic English abilities of personnel that GC bring on site.

"GC dad & son sent out diggers that talk in Spanish who is either indifferent or do not understand our request in English"

Or... season customers into only utilizing contractors that use E-verify and asking if all their employees and subs they use utilize E-verify. Environmentally responsible practice is a marketing point today.

Many younger generations are more environmentally conscious. Focus "legal only" marketing effort on domestic economy conscious people.
