I am making a key cabinet and I am trying to figure out the best way to hang the keys. The company uses the key tags shown, so far I have come up with this idea...its a prototype so everything was guess... In the end it will be of cherry and each row will be five feet long. I primered the piece so it would show up better in the crappy cell phone shot.

You can buy the holders in plastic like this, and they are already numbered. Many colors, lengths, and textures.

I bought mine from MMF Industries, in Wheeling, Illinois. But it WAS a long time ago.

I think Office Depot carries a newer version (flat against the wall) by MMF.

Here's an easy way. You just have to cut saw kerfs in a long strip of wood about 1/4" deep, every half to three quarters of an inch or so.
