Shower is about a year old. Just the floor is starting to show these spots. Was told the grout was sealed but I have my doubts.

Any ideas? Thanks guys.

Sealing doesn't help anything coming up from underneath. I'm leaning towards Jarvis's suggestion.
I was also told that sealing grout on a shower floor is practically a waste of time because the constant flow of water and foot traffic wears the sealer off in no time.

I want a close up.

But Olzo may be on to something. The grout may have just covered up the thinset enough to not be noticed and as the water eroded the grout. Or it could be mold or mildew.

Thanks for the replies guys. I had thought about something coming from underneath but didn't think about "thinset ooze".

We are getting caught up then we will be back to see what it is and maybe what the original tile guys did. Just wanted some other opinions. There is only one real to find out I guess.

Thanks again guys.
