We are finishing off half a basement and the room above is a kitchen with a under counter ice maker at a bar. This is the drain line coming straight off it.

Pipe Room Ceiling Electrical wiring Metal

Condensation forms on the pipe around around the p trap area. I'm assuming it's cause of the extremely cold water from the ice maker and the basement air being warmer. If we just insulate around the pipe with r-19 which is going in the whole ceiling, will this solve the issue?

I just don't want condensation happening when it's all said and done and closed up. Thanks guys.

Don't know but I would be concerned with the insulation holding the condensed moisture as I don't see how the insulation itself would keep the humid air off of the cold pipe. Maybe the insulation with a vapor barrier?
