Anyone know what the safe limits are for the length of a cantilevered deck using 8 x 8 I-beams 8 feet apart. I have beams 12 ft long and I want to extend it out as far as permitted. At 4 ft I am at less than 1,000 lbs for the dead load. It seems I should be able to go out further. This deck is not attached to a structure. One end hangs over a river bank and the rest will be fastened/poured into concrete
