Building a new house, and we're very excited. We have a hybrid water heater in our current house, and it's in the garage. It's super efficient - dropped down about 80% relative to the previous one (we can see branch-circuit consumption with a monitoring device we installed in the MDP called the "Energy Curb").

Anyway, we are not going to have a garage in the house, just a large storage pantry type room. The thing is I know hybrid water heaters work well when they're in a hot room, and they take the heat from the air and pump into the water, and then output cold air.

Will it still work reasonably efficiently if we put the hybrid water heater in an air conditioned room?

Thanks much for the insight!
