Hybrid Timber Frame

My wife and I are in the process of designing and planning our next "dream home". I have a few questions I'd like to ask and one of them deals with the framing.

I am a big fan of the exposed beam ceiling but not so much of the vertical posts inside the house. One timber frame company, Goshen Timber Framing, mentions "hybrid" framing on their site.

In hybrid framing, if I understand correctly, typical stick walls are built and then a timber framed beams and rafters are placed on top of that. They are not just there for appearance, they are part of the structure. It sounds like the best of both worlds.

Any thoughts or experience with this type of frame construction?

Does the timber frame builder have a website?

As far as thoughts, already done it, a one time anyway.

Here's a photo of a "Hybrid" we just finished. The trusses were 8x8, purlins 6x6, with 2x6 decking. All weastern red cedar.
