Way too long to have any real power at the end of that cord. Pretty sure 100' recommends 12ga.

How often do you do sky scrapers operating off a generator on the ground?

I thought we all had cordless saws?

500' is abit ridiculous..... especially if you could just connect multiple 100' ers together.....

Maybe you run it and connect a battery charger on the end for you phone?

I used to carry two fifty footers now only one. And rarely use it.

Have a hundred foot 10 awg. I got for my compressor. But what happened to that one the prongs burned.

I have since converted it as a generator cord. It's great for that, and much too heavy but rarely ever need it.

When prongs burn up ain’t it from over power, not under?

my crappy dewalt compressor runs just fine off a 100’ 12AwG if need be.

my rigid table saw was running off of about 160’ feet of 12 gauge not too long ago and chit was being slammed thru with no bogging.

my old rol-air I wouldn’t dare run on that much stinger.
I own chords. Still carry a semi decent variety everyday, but most of them stay stored. But several tools
Are still plug in for me.

Less than 3% voltage drop at 2 amps. I've used a 1000' spool of 12/2 NM (didn't want to cut it) to run an automotive type battery charger at a low setting (2-5 amps) and it got the job done. However, the 100+ pound wight of that 500 foot cord would be enough to keep me from buying it.

Cords are described by number of conductors and building wire is by current carrying conductors.
May not make sense in this context but in the larger context when cables can be used for more than power distribution like data and controls it is important.
This cord is advertised wrong. It's not 12/3. It's 12/2 w/ground.
Yup, cord is different. Look at the jacket of any extension cord.
